But if you eat what most people in Brisbane do, chances are you are eating an extreme diet in terms of the negative impact that it can have on your health and weight. You see, what we have found is that this typical diet is so common and normal in Brisbane and when new clients come to see us, it can be very difficult to see it as abnormal. After all, isn't it’s just what we eat,? Right?
Yes, it is, but what if we said that the normal is making us tox(sick).

Did you know that our body can only utilise the fuel and nutrients from what we fuel it with? If we feed it hotdogs, then we are building hotdogs as the fabric of our muscles. When we feed it optimally, it will function optimally. And when we fuel up poorly, there is no other choice but for our body to function poorly. And therefore it goes without saying that a poorly performing and functioning body is a body that is unhealthy, possibly sick and toxic.
Should it be just us Australians who need to get worried about being affected by this tox(sick) diet? The sad reality is western diet is penetrating many remote parts of the world, and recently we have started to notice that what were once robustly healthy populations are now showing and dealing with the same sickness that Australians are known for – obesity, diabetes and cancer. What is ironic is that the further they make changes away from their traditional diets toward the typical western diet, the sicker these populations are becoming. For example, In some cultures such as the Okinawa people (one of the longest living people on earth) in Japan, the older generation are now starting to outlive their children and grand children!!! Wow... How can this happen?
What is the typical western diet that we eat in Brisbane? It is typically characterised by the following:
